Ashadha Purnima Vrat

Ashadha Purnima Vrat is a Hindu holy day, also known as Full Moon Day. Devotees worship Lord Vishnu and observe Gopadam vrat (fasting) on this day. It also commemorates the birthday of Vyasa, a revered sage and author of the Sanskrit epic, the Mahabharata. Additionally, it is believed that on this day in 528 BCE, the Buddha gave his first sermon at Samath. Followers offer special devotions and seek blessings from their guru.
