Tynwald Day
Tynwald Day is a national public holiday and the Isle of Man’s National Day. It is celebrated with elaborate ceremony and tradition dating back to the tenth century. One of the highlights includes an outdoor sitting of the Manx Parliament, recognized as the world’s longest continuous parliament, with origins dating back to 979 CE. The festivities also feature a market, fair, and an evening concert where the national anthem is performed, concluding with a spectacular fireworks display.
