- All Day
Also called the ‘Feast of Weeks’ and ‘Pentecost’, this is a Jewish holiday that occurs 50 days after Passover. It celebrates the grain harvest and the revelation of the Torah through Moses on Mount Sinai. Shavuot is the culmination of the Counting of the Omer, a 49-day countdown that immediately follows Passover. The Counting of the Omer marks a transition from slavery to liberation and is also linked to the grain harvest. Shavuot is a one-day public holiday in Israel and is celebrated for two days in the Jewish diaspora, the second festival day being a rule under Jewish law for those in the diaspora.
