Day of Arafah

Day of Arafah, also known as the ‘Day of Arafat,’ is an Islamic holy day falling on the ninth day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the twelfth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. It is the holiest day in Islam and the second day of the Hajj pilgrimage. Pilgrims gather at the plain of Arafat near Mecca to engage in contemplative worship, seek forgiveness, and listen to sermons. The date may vary slightly from country to country.
