Ashadhi Ekadashi

Ashadhi Ekadashi is a sacred Hindu holy day observed on the eleventh day of the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase) of the moon in the Ashadha month of the Indian Lunar Calendar. Devotees congregate in large numbers to bathe in the Godavari river, paying homage to Sri Rama, an avatar of Lord Vishnu. It is a day marked by fasting and singing devotional songs throughout the night as part of the spiritual observance.
